Only the eastern gate (the outsider entrance) is what still exists of the old palace built during Mohamed Aly Pasha’s era which, was integrated into the construction of the new one. It
consists of six granite pillars topped by a copper edge that consists of seven circles where justice related verses of the Holy Quran as well as proverbs are inscribed. The edge that carries those circles topped, at both sides, with two lion statues, between which, there is a marble block portraying birds, shields and two eagles facing each other carrying in the middle the name of Mohamed Aly along with the date 1261. The entrance includes as well a huge wooden gate devoted for means of transportation while at both sides there are two small gates for pedestrian visitors.

The internal façade of the main entrance
It is the eastern internal façade of the palace including the southern flag wing at the right hand side devoted for the accommodation of guests. Whereas the left hand side includes administrative offices.

Main Interior Entrance
This entrance consists of two staircases located at the eastern and western sides and connected with each other. A staircase, that serves the entrance area, reaches the main balcony of saloons 1 and 2. The entrance is distinguished with pillars decorated with golden painted ornaments while the ceilings are adorned with rich paintings and decorative pieces of glass.
