President Mubarak the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces enacted a decree assigning Marshal Magdy Hatatta as Head of the Arab Organization for Manufacturing. Mubarak also awarded Marshal Hatatta the Award of the Republic of first order as he ended his term of services for the Armed Forces.

President Mubarak in his capacity as Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces enacted a Presidential decree promoting Chief of Staff Major General Hamdy Waheeba the Head of Presidential Guard to the rank of Marshal. Marshal Waheeba was also assigned the position of Armed Forces Chief of Staff.

President Mubarak received Omani Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Youssef Bin Alawy who carried an oral message from Sultan Qbous Bin Said of Oman dealing with mutual coordination among both countries around a number of regional and international issues.

President Mubarak inaugurated Oyoun Moussa power station located on the West Coast of the Suez Gulf in Sinai. A number of Egyptian and international companies participated in the implementation of the station, which cost L.E 1445 million.

President Mubarak inaugurated Al Azhar tunnel project, which is a part of a comprehensive development plan of old Cairo.

President Mubarak headed for the Egyptian summer resort of Alexandria to open the new departments of Oncology and Nephrology added to Moustafa Kamel Military Hospital.

President Mubarak held a joint press conference with Austrian Chancellor Wolfgang Schuessel at the end of their talks when he emphasized the need for Israel to ease the blockade on Palestinian territories.

President Mubarak met with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saoud Alfaysal who delivered two messages from Saudi King Fahd Ibn Abdel Aziz and Crown Prince Abdu Allah Ibn Abdel Aziz to Mubarak. Both messages revolved around the recent escalations in Palestine reflected in the continuos Israeli aggression.
