President Mubarak met in Alexandria with King Abdullah II of Jordan in a summit meeting at saving the peace march in the wake of the Camp David Summit failure. Talks between President Mubarak and King Abdullah II late Monday tackled outcome of the 15-day Camp David Summit between Palestinians and Israelis.

President Mubarak and leader of the Libyan Revolution Colonel Moammer Gaddafi underlined the importance of maintaining a unified Arab stance in support of the Palestinian right. President Mubarak and Colonel Gaddafi discussed a number of important issues mainly the Middle East peace process in the light of obstacles faced at Camp David Summit. The two Arab leaders underlined the importance of sticking to the Arab rights and the unified Arab stance in support of the Palestinian rights.

President Mubarak stressed the significance of clear-cut Arab support for Palestinians to restore their legitimate rights according to international legitimacy. This came during talks held in Alexandria between President Mubarak and Palestinian Leader Yasser Arafat, dealing with the current situation of the peace process, given the failure of Camp David negotiations to reach a peace agreement.

President Mubarak had important talks in Jeddah with King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia on the developments of Arab issues especially the ongoing Palestinian Israeli negotiations in Camp David. The talks also covered the conditions in Syria in the light of electing President Bashar AL Assad of Syria and the call of President Mubarak for establishing Arab common market to face the world economic blocs. President Mubarak met with Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister Emir Abdullah Ben Abdul Aziz and they discussed means of enhance bilateral ties. They also tackled the Middle East sluggish peace process, the situation in the Arab occupied lands besides the latest Arab, Islamic and international developments.

President Mubarak attended the commencement of graduating a new class of mubarak security academy The president awarded the duty medal to the superiors of Police Academy, specialist officers, and students at the research center.

President Hosni Mubarak underlined that the 23rd of July will remain a landmark in the history of Egypt as it witnessed the outbreak of a bloodless national revolution that embodied the people's demands, aspirations and insistence to reach their objectives.

President Mubarak attended the commencement of the 67 th class graduation Air Force. The commencement included several Air shows displayed the efficiency and high skills of the Air force.

President Mubarak received a message from Uganda's President Yousi Musivini concerning supporting the dual relationship between the two countries.

President Mubarak, The High Chief Command of the Armed Forces attended the commencement of the 37th Class graduating from the Military Technical College. The President officially verified the recruitment of the Class from the beginning of June 30th.

President Mubarak attended a meeting with the top decision makers of the country to discuss the different constitutional and legal point of views regarding Article 88 of the Constitution, dictating the procedures for the judicial supervision of the elections. Following this meeting, President Mubarak issued two Republican resolutions that involve inviting both the People’s Assembly and the Shoura Council to attend an ad-lib meeting with each to discuss some urgent topics.

President Mubarak attended an extended Ministerial meeting where he examined the Constitutional laws and studies and the different perspectives regarding the two constitutions and laws covering the coming elections for the People’s Assembly, achieving an accurate adherence to the Constitution.

Within the framework of Egyptian efforts to push the peace process forward, President Mubarak attends a meeting with the Israeli Prime Minister Ihod Barak, who has arrived at Cairo for a short visit on his way to Washington where he will join the upcoming Camp David Summit which will join the Palestinian President Yasser Arafat and President Clinton. During this meeting, President Mubarak urged Barak to attend the Summit with an objective perspective and to do his best to allow its success noting that the situation with the region cannot take any postponement in reaching a peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians.


July 9 th , 2000

President Mubarak met with the Palestinian President Mr. Yasser Arafat in Borg El-Arab, west of Alexandria. Throughout the meeting, President Mubarak emphasized the importance of reaching a fair and balanced agreement in the coming Israeli-Palestinian Camp David Summit. He also pointed out that the Arabic, Islamic and Christian nations will not accept any postponement in reaching an agreement regarding the destiny of the Jerusalem.


July 6 th , 2000

President Mubarak received in the Presidency’s office Dr. Ahmed Zoweil, the Egyptian Scientist, and the Nobel Prize Winner in Chemistry. Dr. Zoweil announced that he discussed with the President the establishments of The City of Science and Technology and the current situation of the project after the initial foundation has been laid last January as well as discussing the work plan and procedures of the coming period.


July 6 th , 2000

President Mubarak gives to the government the starting sign to start executing a national, comprehensive program to modernize Egypt. The president assigned The Minister’s Cabinet to develop a modernization program that will engulf all the sectors of the country. A deadline of 3 months was put for the completion of an elaborate plan for the interaction of the outside world within the framework of the international agreements.


July 4 th , 2000

President Hosny Mubarak meets with Mr. Nabih Birry, Chairman of the Lebanese House of Representatives. Mr Birry handed President Mubarak a file containing the requirements for the reconstruction of South Lebanon and requested Egypt’s support and coordination with the donating countries in order to organize a conference aimed at supporting the reconstruction of South Lebanon.


July 4 th , 2000

President Mubarak joins a ministerial meeting aimed at discussing the Egyptian-European trade agreement where he emphasized Egypt’s willingness to adopt a national modernization program to face the challenges forced upon by the international economy and the free trade agreements, noting that the development will be aimed at increasing the potentials of the Egyptian economy and finding a place for it on the map of international trade.


July 3 rd , 2000

President Mubarak received a visit in the Presidential office by Dr. Amr El-Zawawi, the consultant of Oman’s Sultan Qaboos Bin Saeed.for foreign communication.
