Colonel Moammer Gaddafi underlined the importance of maintaining a unified Arab stance in
support of the Palestinian right. President Mubarak and Colonel Gaddafi discussed a number

President Mubarak attended a meeting
with the top decision makers of the country to discuss the different constitutional and
legal point of views regarding Article 88 of the Constitution, dictating the procedures
for the judicial supervision of the elections. Following this meeting, President Mubarak
issued two Republican resolutions that involve inviting both the Peoples Assembly
and the Shoura Council to attend an ad-lib meeting with each to discuss some urgent
topics.

Ministerial meeting where he examined the Constitutional laws and studies and the
different perspectives regarding the two constitutions and laws covering the coming
elections for the Peoples Assembly, achieving an accurate adherence to the

Within the framework of Egyptian efforts
to push the peace process forward, President Mubarak attends a meeting with the Israeli
Prime Minister Ihod Barak, who has arrived at Cairo for a short visit on his way to
Washington where he will join the upcoming Camp David Summit which will join the
Palestinian President Yasser Arafat and President Clinton. During this meeting, President
Mubarak urged Barak to attend the Summit with an objective perspective and to do his best
to allow its success noting that the situation with the region cannot take any
postponement in reaching a peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians.

President Mubarak met with the Palestinian President
Mr. Yasser Arafat in Borg El-Arab, west of Alexandria. Throughout the meeting, President
Mubarak emphasized the importance of reaching a fair and balanced agreement in the coming
Israeli-Palestinian Camp David Summit. He also pointed out that the Arabic, Islamic and
Christian nations will not accept any postponement in reaching an agreement regarding the
destiny of the Jerusalem.

office Dr. Ahmed Zoweil, the Egyptian Scientist, and the Nobel Prize Winner in Chemistry.
Dr. Zoweil announced that he discussed with the President the establishments of The City
of Science and Technology and the current situation of the project after the initial
foundation has been laid last January as well as discussing the work plan and procedures
of the coming period.

President Mubarak gives to the government the starting
sign to start executing a national, comprehensive program to modernize Egypt. The
president assigned The Ministers Cabinet to develop a modernization program that
will engulf all the sectors of the country. A deadline of 3 months was put for the
completion of an elaborate plan for the interaction of the outside world within the
framework of the international agreements.

President Hosny Mubarak meets with Mr. Nabih Birry,
Chairman of the Lebanese House of Representatives. Mr Birry handed President Mubarak a
file containing the requirements for the reconstruction of South Lebanon and requested
Egypts support and coordination with the donating countries in order to organize a
conference aimed at supporting the reconstruction of South Lebanon.

President Mubarak joins a ministerial meeting aimed at
discussing the Egyptian-European trade agreement where he emphasized Egypts
willingness to adopt a national modernization program to face the challenges forced upon
by the international economy and the free trade agreements, noting that the development
will be aimed at increasing the potentials of the Egyptian economy and finding a place for
it on the map of international trade.
